This is literally the best Chinese restaurant I've had in South Florida. The food is always delicious and fresh you can taste that it is made to order immediately. It is always hot and they are quick for pick up, delivery, and dine-in. I drive from north Boca just to eat here it is literally that good.

Just moved to the area, ordered for the first time via delivery. Tried to swap the combo rice for Lo mien but the lady said it was impossible... Even after mentioning I would pay extra! So I ended up ordering a side for almost 7 dollars (rip off). Food was expensive, bland, and below-average for even a Chinese spot. Pros- The crab rangoons were good, and so was the quality of their chicken. Egg roll was ok, nothing special but since I'm being so harsh I'll add it to the pro section... Cons- The rice was horrible that came with the combo (that I couldn't swap for Lo mien!) The egg foo young and gravy tasted like card board The wonton soup was salty water with wet cabbage strings and so-so wontons All in all, I spent 42 dollars for a below average food coma and I will not be ordering from this place in the future.

Sushi is gone..so sad...they moved down the street which is still really convenient..just have to go to 2 places for food instead of one...but chinese still remains consistent! Love to order my usual dim sum (i order it with no sauce tho...just the flavor itself is delicious!) Crab rangoons are so yummy...some places give so little filling but this place fills it up big time that it comes out of the crunchy thing...love ordering the shrimp n lobster sauce but in brown sauce to mix with my rice...keep it up!!

Ehhh...I struggle between two and three stars, but this is the second time I've eaten here...so obviously I do go back. The positives are that they have a drive through and you get A LOT of food. Anything fried is decent....the egg rolls were good and my boyfriend liked the crab rangoon (I don't really like crab rangoon, something about the warm cream cheese). I had the chicken lo mein combo which came with pork fried rice and an egg roll. There was nothing really bad about it, just a little bland. My least favorite part of the meal was the wonton soup...the taste of the broth was kind of strange. I don't eat Chinese very often, so chances are the next time I want it I will have forgotten that I was underwhelmed simply because this place is convenient. I do wish decent Chinese weren't so hard to come by in this area.

Generous portions, good flavors. Had the honey chicken and curry chicken, crab rangoon, egg drop soup and wanton soup. Also egg rolls, everything was very good. The egg rolls were could have been a little more flavorful but overall I liked everything we had. Wait staff was very nice and the food came out quickly.

Being a new local to LHP/Deerfield Beach area I have eaten in and ordered take out here several times and have never had a bad experience. The staff has always been friendly and courteous and I love the convenience of their drive thru for pick up. The food has always been prepared quickly and served hot. Their pork fried rice has lots meat and a great flavor, though my husband still likes to add extra soy sauce. I really enjoy the pork lomein where they do not skimp on the meat there either. Their soups are good, and the sweet and sour pork or chicken are both very good. I have yet to have any item I did not like!

The best Chinese food in the area! Love the chicken and rice soup and the wonton soup. The eggrolls are big and delicious. Everything I've tried is tasted great. China Gourmet is right by work, so it's easy to stop by or use the drive through.

I have been going to China Gourmet for over 15 years. I gave three stars for many reasons. A long time ago, when the restaurant was located on the North side of Federal Highway, the food was delicious! It was always hot, fresh, and was a weekly craving. Then the restaurant moved to the South side of Federal (inside the Bealls/Winn-dixie shopping center). The food was still delicious. Then the restaurant moved to its current location on Hillsboro. The plus side to this location is that they still deliver to my house and they have a drive-thru, but the quality and taste of the food has declined over the years. I still eat here, probably about twice a month, but the food is not the same as it used to be. Nothing amazing. It makes me sad because I can't find another restaurant to satisfy my Chinese craving. I am not sure if there was an owner change or not, but I wish they would go back to their original way of making and preparing food.

Lived in south Florida for 15 years and this is the only American Chinese restaurant I trust. When I want hot, fresh, good quality Chinese food (authentic or Americanized), I come here. It's my go-to place for some yummy soup or just delicious stir fry. My favorites: Orange Beef, General Tao Chicken (eat this fresh and hot- to die for!), Singapore Noodles, Beef Chow Fun, NY-style pork (delish!!!), sometimes in the noodle soup with wontons (try it with hot oil and its as traditional as you can get in DF beach), Fried rice (order it as a fresh order and not a combo-sooo yummy), and Hunan Chicken (xhot). Honestly, I love pretty much all their dishes and I know it's top notch quality. You pay for what you get. Tried Kevin's sushi bar multiple times- fish quality is excellent (look at his tuna or anything really) and his rolls are really unique and delicious (melissa roll is my favorite). Atmosphere-wise, it definitely is not ideal for a date, but I do appreciate the mom and pop shop where you can enjoy a casual lunch or dinner. I always eat in the restaurant as it taste best right off the wok (you can even see them cooking it on the spot through the see-through window). The owners and workers are extremely friendly and I seemed to always order the right stuff. Good luck!

We've never had a bad meal. A great place to get sushi and Chinese food! I love their sushi and my boyfriend always gets the General Tso chicken platter. We order in often!

I love China Gourmet! I'm a local and this is the only place I order Chinese takeout from and will go to and dine. Excellent, fast, friendly service accompanied by extraordinary food make for a perfect combination. Try the singapore noodles, chicken with broccoli, crab rangoon, soups, egg rolls, everything is wonderful!! Highly recommended from a college girl who knows her chinese takeout!

Not sure about this one...they give you lots of food for the $ but it's kind a bland... I have tried it a few times & I think I'm done.. I REALLY wanted to like this place but at the end of the day it's just edible.......

I thought this Chinese food was was ok and the Sushi decent. That changed when China Gourmet got shut down for a day on July 10 by the State of Florida for many disgusting violations which are too numerous to mention here. I will take my hard earned money and dine elsewhere, Pass a dena on this joint. YUCK.

I hate to do it but I have to be truthful. Its an interesting layout and i love the fact that there is a take out drive thru but here isn't much for seating if you want to dine in, only a few tables. I really enjoy watching their grandma with the grand kids making wontons....loved the authenticity of that! The worker, the family, are super sweet but the food is horrible. I ordered honey garlic chicken with pork fried rice. The portion was decent and there was the option to also order a soup and egg roll for $1.89 extra....thank god I didn't opt for that! So i get the honey garlic chicken and not enough sauce and the rice looked 'eh'. Grab the chop sticks and dig in. Within minutes the honey garlic sauce turned gelatinous and didn't taste anything like honey garlic. The chicken was juicy and they used white meat. The friend rice wasn't flavorful either and the rice they used wasn't the usual rice I have seen used. All and all I wasn't happy with the food and its a shame cuz they have a big menu. My friends went and told me not to go cuz they hated the food but I tried anyway. I don't think I will go back.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
